OpenHands
Open-source coding agent that edits code, runs commands and browses in a sandbox, with a hosted cloud version.
- Open source
- Can run on your own servers
Autonomous coding agent that works in its own cloud environment and opens pull requests for your team to review.
Devin is a coding agent from Cognition. You give it a task, such as fixing a bug, adding a small feature or upgrading a dependency, and it works in its own cloud machine with a shell, a code editor and a browser. When it is done, it opens a pull request in your repository.
Teams usually assign work from Slack, from their issue tracker or from Devin's own web app, and can watch what it is doing or step in with comments along the way. It keeps notes about a codebase between tasks, which helps on repeated work in the same repository.
Engineering teams use it for well-scoped backlog tickets, migrations and repetitive changes across many files. Every change still needs review like any other pull request. Before connecting it, decide which repositories and secrets it can reach, and start with tasks where a wrong answer is cheap to spot.
