Cloud sandboxes where agents can run generated code and use a file system without touching your servers.
E2B provides isolated cloud sandboxes for AI agents. When an agent writes code, it needs somewhere safe to run it. An E2B sandbox is a small virtual machine that starts quickly, has its own file system and can install packages, run programs and return the output to your app.
Developers create and control sandboxes through Python and JavaScript SDKs. A common use is a code interpreter, where a model analyzes an uploaded file by writing and running code. Coding agents, data analysis tools and agents that need a full Linux environment use it the same way.
The infrastructure code is open source, and the company runs a hosted service. Before you rely on it, decide how long sandboxes may live, what network access they get and which secrets, if any, you pass into them, because anything the agent can reach from inside a sandbox is within its reach.
Not enough info yet on can run on your own servers, works with MCP. Check the tool's own site.
